New direct liner service to Warri, Nigeria.
We are pleased to announce that UAL, Universal Africa Lines Ltd. and Julius Berger Services Nigeria Ltd. have decided to join forces!
Julius Berger Services Nigeria Limited (JBSN) has served as a multipurpose terminal operator at the Warri Port – Terminal C since 2007. As an experienced terminal operator, the Company offers reliable services for various types of cargo including stevedoring, storage and custom clearing. In addition, Julius Berger Services Nigeria offers shipping services for import as well as export of goods to and from Nigeria.
UAL has been serving the West African market for over 45 years with regular direct liner services between the US Gulf, NW Europe to the West African ports. They operate 7 modern geared MPV vessels ranging from 4.500 till 12.800mt DWT vessels, with a lifting capacity up to 360MT.
With immediate effect, UAL will start a monthly service from Europe to the port of Warri, Nigeria. In Warri, UAL will be calling the modern state of the art terminal of Julius Berger Nigeria. This monthly service will offer a transit time of 30 days, without transshipments. Breakbulk, project cargoes, and containers can be accepted.
“The port of Warri is centrally positioned in Nigeria. Today Lagos traffic is completely blocked, and it takes many days extra to get cargoes out to their final destinations in the rest of Nigeria and even beyond. The port of Warri offers excellent shorter inland connections and does not have any of the logistical challenges which Lagos currently experiences. This together with a highly efficient custom clearing process, offers a very good opportunity for improved transit times for delivery to the final destinations within Nigeria. We therefore feel the creation of this new corridor into Nigeria will fill the demand of clients who are in need of faster door delivery” says Harald Maas, Director of UAL Netherlands.
“Julius Berger Services Nigeria is the Maritime operations subsidiary of the strong Julius Berger Nigeria Plc brand and value chain, which Quality Management System is updated to specifications of the International Organization for standardization’s ISO 9001:2015. The criteria for certification include several quality management principles, including a strong customer focus, a process-driven approach, motivation of top management and a continual improvement of the organization in order to ensure customer satisfaction in terms of good quality and reliable services.
Besides other important benefits which derive from its comprehensive and harmonious understanding and mastery of the social and ecological terrain of its local operational hub, JBSN also factually believes that the success of its business synergy with UAL is further supported by Julius Berger’s state-of-the-art terminal facilities, its strategically central geo-commercial location as well as its ready and supportive fleet which enables efficient and effective logistical haulage and distribution of cargo from the Warri port. Furthermore, JBSN’s tested, experienced, timeous, and reliably supportive customs clearance processes remains a significant operational advantage to customers who will rely on the seamless efficiency of the JBSN-UAL partnership for the avoidance of logistical congestions in order to enhance speed of deliveries.
This, in summary, is what Julius Berger Services Nigeria (JBSN) brings to its maritime services partnership with Universal Africa Lines ” says Alh. Zubairu Ibrahim Bayi, Director of Julius Berger Services Nigeria.
The agreement is in force as from today.
